Sitemap & Robots.txt Builder Instructions
This tool lets you create a fully customized sitemap.xml and robots.txt for your website without needing to write code.
Step 1: Upload sitemap-builder.php and readme.html to the public folder of your website (usually called public_html or www).
Step 2: Open your browser and visit:
https://yourdomain.com/sitemap-builder.php
Using the Tool
- Enter your base site URL (e.g.,
https://yourdomain.com)
- Check the boxes next to the pages or folders you want to allow search engines to crawl
- Click Generate & Save Files
What It Does
- Creates a
sitemap.xml file based on your selections
- Creates a
robots.txt file that:
- Allows only the selected items
- Blocks everything else
- Saves both files in the same folder on your server
Security & Cleanup
Once you're finished generating your files, it's a good idea to delete sitemap-builder.php from your server so it doesn't get indexed.
Important Notes
- This script does not "crawl" your domain — it scans the actual files on the server
- It will automatically skip itself and not include
sitemap-builder.php in your sitemap
- You can re-run the tool at any time to regenerate your files
